Picture a brisk March morning on the Saskatchewan prairies, Chelsea and Brandon are getting ready. Chelsea at her family farm, just down the road from where their ceremony would be held. Popping Champaign and exchanging bridal party gifts the girls were having a fantastic time. Even the pup joined in the wedding fun. The fellows got ready at the church, excitement and nerves filled the air. Once Chelsea was in her dress, we headed over to this adorable church right in the middle of the prairies. I love these old church's, not only are they beautiful but they hold so much history. Chelsea & Brandon got married at Saron Church. With the way restrictions were at the time they could only have close family and a couple of friends. As so many other couples choose to do, they live streamed their wedding so others could enjoy.
One of my favorite things to do at any ceremony, is to look around and capture moments you wouldn't see when your up exchanging your vows. Like mom and dad getting teary eyed, or the little ringbearer that decided to steal the show. When my couples get to look through their photos, these are one they always treasure the most, its easy to miss the little candid's. Chelsea & Brandon choose to do something very unique right after the ceremony, they decided to have their first dances in the church so those joining them on the live stream could share in that moment.
After the ceremony, we ventured next door to the old school house. Unique locations like this are inspiring and set your wedding part from others. The old school still had the old stove and benches, of course we just had to take photos with both. Afterwards we headed to their uncles farm. Chelsea had made a request, if we could take some fun photos with smoke bombs. I am always game for any props couples would like in wedding photos. With a couple of the groomsmen's help we captured some fun photos. the sun was starting to go down, which meant it was about to get really chilly so we headed to their reception location, Rock and Iron in Prince Albert to capture a few more before they would make their grand entrance.
It was so nice to have a sit down reception, complete with speeches, cake cutting, laughter and tears. Their décor perfectly complemented their wintery theme. One of my favorite photo requests from this wedding was a shoe shot. The girls all had matching shoes, however there was something a little different about this photo. A few weeks before the wedding, Chelsea reached out to me that she would have to wear a boot under her wedding dress. The best part is she wasn't alone, so did one of her bridesmaids.
